Enhancing Diamond Grading and Certification Through Blockchain Technology: A Cross-Chain Analysis of EVM-Compatible Platforms
摘要
Traditional diamond quality management systems, based on the “Four Cs” (cut, color, clarity, and carat weight), have long been the standard in the gemstone industry. Despite their effectiveness, these methods face limitations in transparency and traceability, raising concerns about ethical sourcing and the authenticity of diamonds. This paper explores the integration of blockchain technology to address these challenges, leveraging the capabilities of BNB Smart Chain, Fantom, Polygon, and Celo. By employing Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to store and represent essential information about each diamond, our model enhances transparency and traceability. The study evaluates key functionalities such as transaction creation, NFT minting, and NFT transfer across these platforms, highlighting their distinct strengths and potential applications in the diamond industry. The findings suggest that blockchain technology can significantly improve diamond quality management by providing a secure, immutable record of each diamond’s journey from mine to market.
