Emerging Approaches in Hydrogen Production from Biomass
摘要
Hydrogen production from biomass is an appealing prospect as a long-term, eco-friendly energy option. However, there are challenges associated with current methods such as low conversion efficiency and the formation of byproducts. To address these issues, several emerging approaches have been proposed for producing hydrogen from biomass. This chapter provides an overview of these emerging approaches, which includes anaerobic digestion combined pyrolysis, pyrolysis combined with gasification and pyrolysis in the presence of catalyst are revisited and discussed in details. This paper also highlights the technical and economic challenges that need to be resolved in order to have a successful rollout of these emerging approaches. Overall, this chapter aims to provide a critical analysis of the state-of-the-art and future prospects of emerging approaches in hydrogen production from biomass.
