Sexually transmitted diseases (STD) are as old as the history of sex and history of mankind. All over the world people suffer from STDs and are getting treated. The STDs are not only described in medical books but also described in all religious books (The Bible—Leviticus 15—the book of laws deals with bodily discharges). Initially STDs were called Venereal Diseases (VD), only five diseases were described, later they are called STDs, which include all the communicable diseases transmitted during the act of sex. Today the STDs are portal of entry and portal of exit for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) causing Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). People developed fear about any lesion on the sex organs as AIDS symptom. The World Health Organization (WHO) redesignated the term STD to Reproductive Tract Infection (RTI). RTI includes all STDs and Non-STDs on sex organs. Today people are coming with mixed STDs and partially treated STDs, hence clinical diagnosis is difficult. The WHO recommended Syndromic Case Management (SCM) of STDs. SCM includes history, clinical examination, and registration of the case, condom promotion, and treatment according to syndrome.
