This study assesses green spaces in Yerevan, Armenia, and addresses the challenges and potential solutions to improving the city’s urban environment. It aims to guide city administrations in prioritising investments, improving service quality, and enhancing residents’ quality of life. A comprehensive evaluation was conducted of destination and local parks in Yerevan that together form the network of urban public green space. An integrated approach, incorporating fieldwork assessments and analysis of spatial data, was used to assess the physical attributes and characteristics of these green spaces. The study highlights the importance of accessible green spaces for all inhabitants, and emphasises the added value of interconnected green spaces that provide continuity of experiencing urban greenery. However, the analysis reveals a significant decrease in green space in recent decades, primarily due to rapid urbanisation, economic decline, population growth, and inadequate urban planning. It is anticipated that the findings will contribute to the vision and policy framework, such as the “3-30-300 rule,” required for a healthier and improved quality of life for residents while promoting urban resilience and sustainable development.
