The objective of this study is to enhance sustainable quality monitoring through the optimization of the Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (EWMA) chart. Traditional quality monitoring strategies often overlook the critical dimensions of economic and environmental sustainability. To address this gap, the present research introduces a model to optimize the parameters of the EWMA chart, thereby minimizing the sustainability-related costs associated with monitoring manufacturing processes. This model aims to reduce both the inspection cost and environmental impact incurred during the monitoring process, while maintaining acceptable levels of inspection frequency and false alarm rate. The performance of the proposed optimized EWMA chart is compared against both the conventional EWMA chart and optimized Shewhart np chart. The findings reveal that the optimized EWMA chart achieves superior performance, outstripping the conventional EWMA chart by 12% and optimized Shewhart np chart by 19%, thereby evidencing its efficacy in enhancing the sustainability of quality monitoring practices.

摘要
