In recent years, the development of information technology is rapidly changing, electronic products have become the most important human-computer interaction carriers and platforms to meet the needs of daily life, and icons have become an indispensable part of people's daily work. In order to explore the association between icon complexity and user's sense of control, we take the attribute of icon visual complexity as the entry point, and from the perspective of visual search, we combine E-prime3 psychological experimental research with subjective evaluation methods to determine the subjects' visual perception of icon stimuli with different levels of complexity, and then analyze the perception evaluation data through statistical methods using SPSS27.0. In order to explore the design strategies to effectively improve the user's sense of control when using electronic products, reduce the user's cognitive load and optimize the icon design. The results show that icons of different levels of complexity have a significant impact on users' sense of control, and the integration of iconic colors enhances users' sense of control.
