This aim of this study was to explore the perceptions of American pregnant women on mobile app design and information credibility and what features they look for in pregnancy apps. To achieve this, explanatory sequential mixed methods research was used. Fifty-nine pregnant women participated in the quantitative phase using anonymous web surveys while multiple-case studies involving remote co-designing was used to gather the qualitative data from four pregnant women and one gynecologist. Findings revealed that majority of the women used pregnancy apps during their current pregnancy. More than a fourth-fifth agree that the apps they used were applicable, related, pertinent and relevant to their health needs. Women said that they experience poorly designed health apps, and this experiences often frustrate their app use and information search. Participants favor evidenced-based contents and desire app information from health professionals and institutions. Reliable information based on gestational week and fetal development tracker were the most important features women want in their app(s).
