Exploring the Dynamics of XR and AI Synergy in Architectural Design
摘要
This study investigates the integration of Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in architectural design, examining their collective impact on design methodologies, stakeholder engagement, and project outcomes. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature, various applications of XR and AI across different stages of architectural design, including design exploration, building shape optimization, façade design, layout planning, floor plans, and energy performance, are identified and analyzed. The research proposes two key frameworks: the XR-AI Deployment Framework and the Vision Map for XR-AI integration. The XR-AI Deployment Framework offers a structured approach for effectively integrating XR and AI technologies into architectural projects, comprising preparation and planning, implementation process, and full-scale application phases. Meanwhile, the Vision Map provides a systematic methodology for understanding project objectives and requirements, guiding practitioners in gathering essential information to inform the deployment process. A practical case study illustrates the application of the XR-AI deployment framework, showcasing its adaptability and potential to revolutionize architectural design processes. This research highlights the transformative possibilities of XR and AI in architectural practice, while also addressing challenges such as technical complexity, data management, and ethical considerations. Ultimately, it emphasizes the need for ongoing research and educational advancements to ensure responsible and effective utilization of XR and AI technologies in architectural design.
