Preliminary Study on the Need of Digital Maturity and Inclusion Guide for GLAMs
摘要
In the last decade in Europe the digital transformation discussion, incl. understanding museum collections as data shifted from technological and standardisation aspects to ethical and legal regulations (IPR, copyright). Within this context and taking into account that 2023 is the European year of digital skills, this paper focuses on capacity building needs of museum professionals. The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH) and the Common European Data Space for Cultural Heritage (DS4CH) promote vision and services where sharing heritage and research equals caring for the future. Therefore digital maturity for memory institutions, based on literacy, capacities and competencies, is a key factor for offering quality of open knowledge, open culture and adding value to open science. At the same time rules of universal inclusive design should be known and applied. This paper presents work in progress: Digital Maturity and Inclusion Guide for GLAM, where technological determination must obey accessibility at all levels, and applies three rule schemes: DEAI, POUR as well as FAIR.
