Downstage Voices—The New Journalism and Sport
摘要
The major movement of twentieth century American journalism, the New Journalism, is revisited through the sports writing of some of its key practitioners, with the spotlight principally on Tom Wolfe and Gay Talese. The main focus is on Talese’s articles about boxing, and an argument is made for Talese to be esteemed as one of the pre-eminent writers on sport of the twentieth century.
