摘要

Gender diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are critical for progressive organizational culture and societal progress. The representation of women in corporate boards is relatively flat across the globe and has been a subject of debate where corporate governance codes (CGC) can play an important role. Policy formulation with specific rules regarding gender diversity is crucial in the prevailing debate because self-regulation and mild legal provisions could enhance representation of women at the top management across countries. Based on secondary research the chapter offers relevant inputs to policymakers, corporate/supervisory boards, and provides future directions to researchers and HR professionals for bridging the gender gap in top echelons with corporate governance codes.
