The dentato-rubro-thalamocortical tract (DRTC) connects the dentate nucleus with the ipsilateral and contralateral cortex. It emanates from the dentate nucleus, runs on the lateral wall of the fourth ventricle, and enters the posterior midbrain via the superior cerebellar peduncle, lateral to the periaqueductal gray. DRTC moves anteriorly in the midbrain and partially decussates. DRTC is medial to the substantia nigra and then connects to the red nucleus, and the thalamic nuclei, particularly centromedian and ventral thalamic nuclei. There is onward projection to the posterior limb of the internal capsule, and superiorly, DRTC fans out to the whole cerebral cortex.
