The acoustic radiation (AR) runs laterally and connects the medial geniculate nucleus to Heschl’s gyrus, on the inferior bank of the Sylvian fissure, and the superior temporal gyrus. The medial geniculate nucleus is on the inferior border of the pulvinar, medial to the lateral geniculate nucleus (LGN). The acoustic radiation passes laterally, superior to the LGN and the optic radiation, and then arches in a C-shape posterior to parieto-pontine and parieto-corticospinal projections. AR then runs further laterally, inferior to the insula, terminating in Heschl’s gyrus and the superior temporal gyrus.

摘要
