The postcentral thalamocortical tract (PostCST) connects the postcentral gyrus to the ventral posterolateral nucleus (VPL) of the thalamus. The inferior end of PostCST stems from the VPL. Superiorly, the tract is anterior to the atrium of the ventricle, posterior to the precentral corticospinal tract, anterior to the parietal CST, and lateral to the posterior body of the caudate nucleus. PostCST is lateral to the dorsal cingulum and runs close and orthogonal to the superior longitudinal fasciculus II to terminate in the post central gyrus.
