Air pollution has been a serious environmental concern due to its detrimental health effects and climatic changes. An attempt has been made to investigate the temporal variation of ambient PM10, PM2.5, SO2 and NO2 for mining areas operating in the northern belt of the state of Odisha, India. Study found average concentrations of PM10, PM2.5, SO2 and NO2 are 99.02 µg/m3, 54.12 µg/m3, 7.30µg/m3 and 19.14 µg/m3, respectively during January 2022 to December 2022. The annual average concentrations with standard deviation for eight locations of the study area of PM10, PM2.5, SO2 and NO2 concentration are 99.02 ± 28 µg/m3, 54.12 ± 11.3 µg/m3, 7.30 ± 3.1 µg/m3 and 19.14 ± 8.2 µg/m3, respectively. The daily average ambient air pollutants are compared with National Ambient Air Quality Standard. Daily average data will help in identifying the peak period for further steps in mitigation of air pollution.
