It is increasingly complex to make decisions relating to environmental requirements in the product design phase. Any decision made at this stage may affect the environmental impact of the product. It is therefore necessary to provide new methods and tools for product designers to help them in ecological design choices. This paper describes an approach and new tool for Eco designing technological processes. Through tools based on artificial intelligence it is possible to propose a new method for the research and implementation of sustainable solutions in the industrial world. The paper describes how the implementation of new research systems can support both present (ecodesign) and future (prospective ecodesign) sustainable development.
