A Modified Energy-Aware PRoPHET DTN Routing Protocol for Low-Energy Networks
摘要
In this paper, we present a modified version of the Probabilistic Routing Protocol Using History of Encounters (PRoPHET) protocol, designed to address scenarios where network energy levels are low, and most nodes are at risk of depleting their energy reserves. Our goal is to modify the PRoPHET routing protocol to achieve a higher delivery probability in low-energy network conditions. The modified PRoPHET protocol optimizes energy usage by considering the remaining energy levels of nodes. This ensures that packets are only sent when a node has sufficient energy, thereby avoiding unnecessary transmissions and preserving nodes’ battery life. Tests conducted on the modified protocol have shown that, even under conditions with limited initial energy, the modified PRoPHET outperforms the standard version. The packet delivery probability increases while maintaining constant overhead.
