Fundamentals of Continuum Mechanical Modeling
摘要
The first chapter introduces the major idea and the continuum mechanical background to model structural members. It is explained that mechanical members are described based on differential equations. These equations are obtained by combining the three basic equations of continuum mechanics, i.e., the kinematics relationship, the constitutive law, and the equilibrium equation. The second part introduces the one- and two-dimensional bending members, i.e., beams and plates. Furthermore, some explanations on the choice of the coordinate system for bending problems are provided.
