This chapter provides guidance on system development life cycle methodologies and best practices for project management of the next generation of systems. Project organization including roles and responsibilities are covered. There are many aspects of the next generation (5G/6G, IoT, blockchain) that are generic; however, there are certainly many unique aspects when managing these mobile-based systems. Thus, this chapter provides an understanding of where these unique challenges occur in the life cycle of software development. It also focuses on the ongoing support issues that must be addressed to attain best practices.
