As we face the critical need for sustainable development amid climate change, embracing nature-driven renewable energy sources—such as solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, and geothermal—has become essential. Study highlights the crucial need to shift from fossil fuels to these sustainable alternatives, as emphasized by reports like the IPCC’s Special Report on Global Warming. Nature-driven renewable energy not only offers a hopeful solution but also presents a robust economic opportunity, driving growth, creating jobs, and fostering innovation. The integration of these renewable energy systems is not just about technology; it requires comprehensive policies and global cooperation. Technological innovation plays a crucial role, turning theoretical ideas into practical, scalable solutions. Renewable energy, which constituted 26.2% of global electricity generation in 2020, supports key UN Sustainable Development Goals, including affordable and clean energy, decent work, economic growth, industry innovation, sustainable cities, and climate action. This transition also incorporates nature-inspired principles, such as biomimicry—solar panels mimicking photosynthesis and wind turbines modelled after avian wings. These systems demonstrate the significant potential of nature-driven energy solutions to tackle environmental challenges, offering a clean and sustainable energy supply while promoting equitable prosperity. Despite ongoing challenges like intermittency and cost-effectiveness, the focus is on leveraging advanced technologies and fostering collective action. Governments, policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders are called to collaborate and accelerate the shift toward nature-inspired renewable energy systems. This abstract serves as a call for continued research, innovation, and joint efforts to integrate nature-driven renewable energy with broader sustainable practices, aiming for a resilient and equitable future.
