In examining the role of DNA in criminal cases, this research sheds light on its reliability and significance as evidence. The study is divided into two main parts, with the first section delving into the characteristics and properties of DNA, and the second section focusing on its legal status as evidence. Notably, the study concludes that DNA is admissible in criminal proceedings, given that it is obtained following legal protocols. As a result, the researchers suggest amendments to Jordanian laws pertaining to criminal penalties and trial procedures, highlighting the importance of including DNA as strong evidence, provided that the prosecution can demonstrate the integrity of its collection.
