There are electric vehicles on the market that have been designed using the time-tested logic and methods of an ICE automobile. We will find in this chapter, however, that an electric vehicle is not simply an ICE automobile with a different powertrain and fuel storage unit. To achieve a successful, efficient EV, component packaging as well as the approach taken for structural development requires change.
