This book explores the often-overlooked history of women who pioneered electronic computing during the early years of the State of Israel. Despite facing numerous obstacles, these women made significant contributions to scientific research, industry, and the military. We begin by exploring the path of Jewish women in science and technology, both before and after the founding of the State. WEIZAC, the nation's first electronic computer built in the 1950s, serves as the springboard for the narrative, which then delves into the stories of thirteen remarkable women: engineers, mathematicians, programmers, and early computer science graduates. Through interviews and historical analysis, the book sheds light on their individual journeys and collective experiences. These women overcame gender bias and paved the way for future generations. By examining their achievements and the challenges they faced, the book offers a glimpse into the early stages of Israel's technological development, while also potentially inspiring young women to follow these early role models into the path of science and technology.
