Sustainable Aquaculture Practices for Mitigating Environmental Impacts and Improving Food Security

Climate change effects and implications on aquaculture production and sustainability continue to play a significant role in the fastest-growing Indian population. The UN Sustainable Development Goals 1, 13 and 14 has laid the target of improving the quality of human life around the world by 2030. Aquaculture is one of the fastest food-growing sectors of the country, challenged the potential impacts of climate. Several adaptations and means to cover the gap area of the existing knowledge are on the roads. The present paper has paved a way forward to utilize potential resources for a good aquaculture feed; the techniques were framed for the common people in the villages of Koraput district of Odisha, known for its poverty challenges were undertaken in the study area. In this regard using spring waters of the highlands as means of sustainable use of water sources. This has served a long-term way forward towards prawn culture (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) with sustainability.
