Food insecurity remains an impending pervasive global challenge that affects millions of people, often leading to malnutrition and its associated health implications. As people grapple with the complexities of ensuring access to nutritious and healthy food, the role of fishes remains as a pivotal influence in compensating for food insecurity and meeting the nutritional demands of diverse populations throughout the countries. Fishes have been proved to be rich source of high-quality proteins, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins as well as minerals, each one of which is important for attaining high fish growth which in turn benefits those who eat fish. This essay explores into the manifold contributions of fishes, exploring their nutritional richness and the impact on global food security. Being an excellent source of proteins and vitally essential nutrients, fishes do contribute considerably towards supporting the nutritional requirements of populations throughout the world.
