In order to develop or design an engineering project, it is often necessary to know the relief of the construction site. The design of a highway, a water dam, an energy transmission line, a water distribution network, a sewage network or a subdivision, to name only the most expressive ones, can only be developed if the engineer has at his disposal, in addition to the location of the feature elements of the terrain, a representation of the relief of the area in which it is to be designed, showing the elevations, depressions and other relief features. In this way, over the years, different forms of relief representation have been developed, allowing professionals in the field of geosciences and engineering to use them according to the needs of their projects. In this sense, to help civil engineers develop their projects, this chapter aims to study different types of relief representations for use in civil engineering projects.

In this sense, to help civil engineers develop their projects, this chapter aims to study different types of relief representations for use in civil engineering projects.
