Experimental Study of Pine Orthotropy Under Dynamic Compression

The work is devoted to the experimental study of orthotropy of pine strength characteristics under dynamic loading. Using the Kolsky method, pine samples were tested at normal humidity and room temperature. Loading was carried out at different angles to the fiber direction. Deformation diagrams in the range of strain rates 500–3000 1/s were obtained. The strain rate dependences of the dynamic hardening coefficient (dynamic factor) were determined. A comparison of the strength characteristics of pine under loading at angles of 0, 45, and 90° relative to the fiber direction has been carried out.
