Using Comparative Methods to Do International Drug Policy
摘要
In this chapter, we explore how scholars within the field of International Drug Policy carry out their research. Topics that we cover include: sample sizes; research design and the selection of countries for suitable comparison; the number of countries to compare; whether to use qualitative or quantitative data; the use of statistical analysis; and historical methodology. The chapter begins with a brief overview of two useful digital resources that can be utilized in comparative analysis: the World Factbook; and the Library of Congress Country Studies.
