News is defined as a representation or (re)construction of reality with social and ideological interventions (Fowler 1991; Conboy 2007; van Dijk 2011; Cotter and Ben-Aaron 2017). In the past two decades, Internet technologies enable both the emergence of digital-born news media and the transfer of traditional legacy news, i.e. stories published on print newspapers, to the new platforms of news websites, social media and mobile applications. Accordingly, “the way people consume their news” has been changed (Stassen 2010: 117). Quite a few scholars from the disciplines of media communication and sociolinguistics report on the variations of storytelling, distribution and reception in the changing landscape of electronic news discourse.

摘要
