Traveler’s Demand Reactive Dynamic Online Bus Routing [TraDeR-DOBR] to Improvize Comfort Perception in Intelligent Public Transport System
摘要
In today’s time travellers of urban areas prefer public transport as first choice of commute to enjoy the hassle-free ride to their destination. Also, the improvement in infrastructure including roads, traffic flow, AC buses, etc., general people are motivated to use them as and when possible. But static routing forces people to travel in heavily loaded vehicle, resulting in decrease of comfort perception which people have while using personal vehicle. The work on dynamic routing for public transport vehicle have been put into thoughts to minimize the load a vehicle is carrying that leads to minimization in travel and waiting time. The proposed architecture is simulated in SUMO tool to compute and analysed on request allocated per vehicle, average waiting time, and average travel time for set of requests over variously categorized network topology. The result shows that unsatisfied request when carried ahead to be attempted again in upcoming round decreases the request dropping count by 3 to 5% depending on network with slight increase of 1.1% in response time.
