Linking various phenomena observable in the current urban development enables drawing a general overview of the condition of contemporary neighborhoods. The immersive presence of communication technologies in urban life, virtualization of services sector, and popularization of a participatory approach in decision-making are the main reasons for conducting research on multichannel neighborhood governance. This chapter points to the gaps in the state-of-the-art, as well as arising questions connected to the insufficient appreciation of the online channel in urban governance. To ensure academic integrity and provide reliable results, every research needs to be properly structured and embedded in the background knowledge. Therefore also the materials and methods used in this book are outlined below.
