Some conventional plant breeding strategies comprise of the traditional plant material introduction and exchange, simple selection and recurrent selection, or any form of selection involving recombination, to obtain pure line varieties or open pollinated varieties and hybridisation followed by pedigree, bulk, single seed descent and backcrossing breeding methods and development of inbred lines and improved populations for production of various types of hybrid varieties.
