Effective hepatic artery infusion pump (HAIP) programs require a cohesive and highly skilled team of healthcare providers from a variety of backgrounds, including medical oncology, surgical oncology, diagnostic and interventional radiology, gastroenterology, pharmacy, nursing, and social work. Each team member should undergo tailored training specific to their role in the program. Furthermore, the team must possess a comprehensive understanding of patient selection to ensure optimal outcomes. This chapter delves into the critical elements of patient selection for a new HAIP program. Patient education is also vital, beginning with the presurgical visit and continuing throughout the patient’s journey.
