Hepatic arterial infusion (HAI) chemotherapy is most commonly used to treat patients with colorectal liver metastases, for palliation, conversion, or as an adjuvant therapy, as well as for patients with unresectable intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The duration of intended therapy and secondary use of the pump may vary based on clinical indication and patient-specific factors. This chapter includes general considerations for duration of HAI, pump maintenance when initial HAI chemotherapy is discontinued, as well as secondary use of the pump for disease recurrence.
