Chapter 2 used a simple yet highly practical model to introduce the main ideas behind the QPLEX calculus. In Part I, we develop an abstraction of this calculus and show that it applies to a wide variety of models. This chapter presents our terminology and definitions that form the foundation for the developments in this part.
