This chapter relates to the inspection and survey of pipelines at different phases including fabrication, installation, and testing after installation. The phases of fabrication and construction covered by this chapter include pipe and coating manufacture, fabrication, assembly, and line pipe pressure test. The phases of installation include route survey of the pipelines, preparation, transportation, field installation, construction, system pressure test and survey of the as-built installation. The post-installation phase includes survey for continuance of classification, accounting for damage, failure, and repair.
