With mass education, school has revealed its ability to exhibit the social and cultural differences frequently associated with inequality and dispute, from which all types of cultural and social clashes emerge. These contexts tend to be more visible in young people as they are marked by a certain instability related to social problems, which they must tone down in order not to be perceived as irresponsible and/or uninterested. These scenarios tend to appear in the lower, disadvantaged social classes. It is not always possible for schools to fight these inequalities at the start of schooling, which leads to student demotivation and early school leaving. Taking into consideration that young people’s everyday lives involve school, it is the purpose of this study to identify the skills of young people in contexts outside the classroom and, based on these skills, develop an educational, socially interventional school project to stop demotivation and the resulting early school leaving of students. To reach this aim we will opt for investigation of a qualitative nature with characteristics of action research. The project will involve 18 students from Escola Básica e Integrada da Torreira.

摘要
