This study aims to identify the benefits and challenges of using Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) within the context of the hospitality industry, as perceived by students enrolled in tourism and hospitality programs. Given their role as prospective practitioners in the field, the insights of these students are pivotal. The advantages identified by responding students encompass enhanced provision of guest information, refinement of orientation skills, facilitating operational processes, improving the hotels’ attractiveness, pre-exploration of surrounding environments and amenities, and engagement through gamified experiences. The challenges are related to resistance to technology, especially by older people, the fear of human labor being replaced, technical problems and each hotel's investment in technological equipment and software and staff training. The questionnaire reveals that students do not have extensive knowledge about the use of VR and AR in hospitality, which shows that there needs to be an effort to integrate content on the role of integrating and using new technological solutions in hospitality into academic curricula.

摘要
