Mercantilist society has given a high place to intelligence focused on memory and financial skills; however, it has forgotten the development of soft skills that govern the emotional and social part of the human being for accurate decision-making and high emotional intelligence. It is necessary to take into account that human beings are not isolated, and the vital need to relate to other people drives them to develop these skills for a healthy life and a peaceful environment. In order to carry out the analysis of this topic, information was collected from different academic, health, and psychological research studies. A descriptive bibliographic process was carried out, analyzing the results presented and the opinions of authors who analyze the development of soft skills in pre-primary children. Finally, the direct dependence of academic and personal success on the adequate development of soft skills was determined because they allow the child to develop in an adequate social environment and metacognition, resulting in adequate mental health.
