The first thing that the surgeon should do after surgery is to inform the patient about the surgery and the possible course of the postoperative period. It is always a good idea to repeat the postoperative instructions and give them to the patient in written form. Pain, nausea, and vomiting are possible problems during the first 24 h. The patient is administered decongestants, antihistamines, nasal saline, antibiotics, and cold applications for the first week after surgery. The cast and splints are usually removed after a week. Additional taping on the nose can be applied for another week. If there are any nonabsorbable sutures, they should be removed within a week. The patient should be followed up at regular intervals after surgery to observe changes in the nose.
