International Standards to Protect Investors
摘要
To ensure probable profit, foreign investors require legality and a reasonable degree of certainty, transparency, and predictability in the host state’s exercise of sovereign power prior to and at the time of investment. While PRI is essentially a contingent promise of compensation, it can also serve as a deterrent. This chapter discusses the various frameworks that international law offers and the forms of contractual arrangements used to safeguard foreign investments.
