The translation industry has undergone a significant transformation due to advancements in translation technology. This transformation has had a profound impact on translators, affecting their work, income, and control over translations. While there are negative consequences, there are also positive aspects to consider. To fully comprehend the importance of machine-assisted tools in achieving translation multivocality, we will embark on a comprehensive exploration. Specifically, we will analyze the multivocality of literary texts that have undergone machine-assisted translation in order to uncover the underlying themes. The use of machine-assisted tools in translating literary texts often results in noticeable variations in translation multivocality. Therefore, it is crucial to adopt a systematic approach based on theoretical frameworks rather than relying on arbitrary conventions or practices. The study concludes that the human–machine relationship requires adaptable, proactive responses, continuous updates, innovative approaches, and ongoing training, even if solely for implementation purposes. These factors are undoubtedly unavoidable.
