Digital twins (DTs) have become prominent in the digitalization era due to the advantages they bring to fields of application like Industry 4.0. In this contribution, we briefly go over the role of experimentable DTs in a V-model-based development cycle of a system, which includes XiL methods. We also provide a proof of concept (in the form of two application examples) of their use in the model-in-the-loop development stage, where the controller model of the system is implemented in real-time capable hardware.

摘要

Digital twins (DTs) have become prominent in the digitalization era due to the advantages they bring to fields of application like Industry 4.0. In this contribution, we briefly go over the role of experimentable DTs in a V-model-based development cycle of a system, which includes XiL methods. We also provide a proof of concept (in the form of two application examples) of their use in the model-in-the-loop development stage, where the controller model of the system is implemented in real-time capable hardware.
