The present conclusion chapter is an overview of the current status of aeronautics, with minimal passing reference to the past only as necessary and instead main focus on needed actions and future challenges. It summarizes the conclusion [1–3] of the project PARE (Perspectives for Aeronautical Research in Europe) concerning the ACARE (Advisory Council for Aeronautical Research and Innovation in Europe) goals for aviation in the 2050-time frame [4–6], including: (i) current status and additional progress needed to reach the 24 ACARE Goals; (ii) 32 supporting PARE Objectives underlying the achievement of those goals. The outcome is summarized into a set of 58 recommendations for aeronautical research in Europe [7], based on key findings of the PARE project detailed in its three yearly reports [1–3].

摘要
