An Overview of Optimization Approaches Dealing with the Uncertainty Associated with Electric Vehicles

This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the uncertainty optimization of electric vehicles. First, the review provides an overview of optimization methods applied to electric vehicles, emphasizing meta-heuristics and linear programming. A brief description of the main uncertainties related to electric vehicles is presented, focusing on which methods are used concerning electric vehicle charging. The article also discusses the impact of uncertainties in the operation of the microgrid to mitigate possible operational costs and ensure reliable operation. From the problems that arise in electric vehicle uncertainties, the problem of charging station locations is analyzed with significant importance at the end of this article. The review concludes that although the study on electric vehicle uncertainties is still relatively recent, methods when dealing with uncertainties are increasingly being improved, notably through the predictive control model or robust optimization, which has proven to be one of the best solutions.
