Hydrogen Fuel cells (FC) are one of the most interesting and promising nowadays solutions, for an eco-friendly future. In this paper, a study has been conducted on a multi-stack hydrogen Fuel cell system applied on a maritime transport. Two main problems were addressed, the first one is related to the high-power demand of the heavy-duty transport and the second challenging aspect of this system, is the aging factor of its stacks. In this paper, an optimized energy management strategy for a multi-stack system is suggested. It is based on an automatic losses balance between the different stacks, depending on their state of health and power capabilities.
