This chapter of this book takes the reader through two sample case studies motivated by real-world examples, allowing readers to see the steps necessary to build their first AnyLogic computer simulation models. This model-building process will start with a blank AnyLogic “canvas,” and systematically, throughout this chapter, the reader will be able to follow along as we build out a fully functioning process simulation model. We start by laying the process flow diagram objects on the canvas, and then apply properties to those objects to give the simulation model its full functionality. This same step-by-step rigor is reapplied in building out a key performance indicator (KPI) dashboard; the reader will learn how we can use AnyLogic to report the simulated KPIs both graphically and numerically. These include performance of relevant financial, operational, and customer service metrics.

摘要
