In today’s healthcare landscape, ensuring the security and accuracy of medical device calibration has become paramount in assuring the delivery of quality healthcare services. By implementing robust calibration systems, healthcare facilities can significantly reduce the occurrence of medical errors, safeguard patients, and enhance overall healthcare outcomes. MediSync, a state-of-the-art fingerprint recognition framework, addresses the crucial need for enhanced safety in the calibration of medical devices. Leveraging the widely accepted, mature, and proven technology of fingerprint recognition, MediSync provides a reliable solution that ensures only qualified individuals initiate and oversee calibration procedures, effectively minimizing the risk of unauthorized access and tampering. By utilizing Contrast-Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) and Gabor Filter for the efficient enhancement of the acquired fingerprint image, an accurate template is generated to ease the process of minutiae feature extraction. We harness minutiae-based matching techniques to optimize the performance of the system, thus achieving a high level of precision during the identification of personnel. This model yields a comprehensive performance evaluation that encompasses metrics like False Acceptance Rate (FAR), False Rejection Rate (FRR), Equal Error Rate (EER), Hamming Similarity Index (HSI) and Accuracy, affirming the identification of certified personnel and validating the calibration process’ integrity. Ultimately, the promotion of traceability, reliability, and security by employing MediSync within calibration devices contributes to the overall quality and effectiveness of healthcare.
