EaP Countries at the Crossroads of Ukrainian War and Refugee Crisis: An Economic Analysis
摘要
The Russian-Ukrainian war unleashed in February 2022 was an unexpected shock that brought back to life the fear, uncertainty and conflicts inside Europe. Targeting Ukraine, the conflict was perceived from the very beginning as a direct threat to the Eastern Partnership and the Western path embraced by the three Associate and newly candidate countries. By providing a general overview of the ex-ante moments of Russian invasion and highlighting the updated socio-economic implications of war on the EaP countries, the purpose of this chapter is to offer a profound analysis concerning the impact of Ukrainian on both: EU and also the EaP. Our analysis highlight that future requires a stronger EU as actor and geopolitical power able to mitigate Russia’s hostile attitude.
