Here we discuss the common personality traits in various neurological diseases. Stroke patients tend to be more anxious after their stroke. The predictors of anxiety after stroke are age, neuroticism, and low agreeableness. The recovery process is determined by personality traits. Premorbid neuroticism is associated with behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). The patients with myasthenia gravis have more neuroticism. Personality trait is a pre-motor feature of Parkinson’s disease (PD). There is a tendency for the patients with epilepsy in particular patients with juvenile myoclonus epilepsy (JME) to be impulsive. Neuroticism is a predictor of increased disability in patients with MS. In conclusion, most of the neurological diseases are associated with neuroticism. The other two more common personality traits of neurological diseases are anxiety and depression. Other notable personality traits in neurological conditions are lower levels of extraversion, agreeableness, and openness.
